erasmus+

international exchange

Erasmus+ is the EU programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe for the period 2021-2027.

The Erasmus+ program is aimed at improving the skills and employability of young people and modernizing education, training and youth work. The seven-year program has a budget of 14.7 billion euros, with which the EU wants more than 5 million Europeans to study, train, gain work experience or perform voluntary work abroad.

AVA under the Erasmus + program enables students to complete part of their study obligations and/or practical training at a partner institution or a company abroad. In the Erasmus + program, the following countries participate:

  • members of the European Union,
  • Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey and Macedonia.

The student can participate in the exchange for at least 3 months and not more than 12 months.

study exchange

The Erasmus+ program allows the student to perform part of the regular study obligations at the partner institution abroad.

Partner institutions abroad, where students can take part of the study obligations are those institutions with which an Erasmus+ interinstitutional agreement is signed on the exchange of students in a given academic year for the relevant study field. The partner institution should not charge tuition fees, registration fees, exams, entry to the library to visiting students under the Erasmus+ program; Student can only be charged a minimum amount for insurance (basic/urgent), membership in a student organization, small material (copies, etc.).

Programme Erasmus+ offers online language support (OLS) for mobility participants to improve their foreign language skills before or at the beginning and during the study abroad. This service allows participants mobility to assess their knowledge of the language they will use in their studies, and an online language course with which they can improve their knowledge. For this purpose, grants partially co-financed by studies abroad are awarded under the Erasmus+ program. Erasmus+ grant is not excluded from other scholarships, so students can also arrange staff and other scholarships for study abroad.

Studies at a partner university abroad can take up to 5 months. Candidates can apply for mobility for the purpose of studying abroad, which will take place from July 1st 2019 until September 30th 2020 at the latest.

For the academic year, we received a Student Mobility Grant for studying abroad, which is still open. The amounts of the award for individuals under the Erasmus + call are determined by the selected host country, as follows:

mobility of employees with the purpose of training

This type of mobility supports professional development of employees at higher education institutions with training abroad (excluding conferences!) And job tracking/observation / training periods at a partner higher education institution or in another relevant organization abroad.

The aims of this type of activity are primarily to increase the quality and quantity of student mobility on AVA under the Erasmus+ program (outgoing and upcoming students): getting in touch with organizations that could take AVA students to Erasmus + professional practical training abroad, visiting partner institutions with whom AVA actively exchanges of students under the Erasmus + program, participation in organized training weeks (Erasmus Staff Training Week) at higher education institutions abroad, contact with higher education institutions abroad participating in the Erasmus+ program, which could become Erasmus+ partner institutions AVA, etc.

Mobility lasts for 5 business days, which does not include travel time.

A grant may not be granted retrospectively for activities that have already ended at the time of submission of the grant application.

COSTS AND DOTATIONS

The grant is intended to co-finance the costs of travel and stay abroad and is generally not sufficient to cover all costs, therefore partial co-financing of the participant is necessary. It is an investment in knowledge and the development of competences that the individual himself could hardly realize without the formal contacts of both institutions (parent and host), without the assistance of the Erasmus+ program (grant) and without a home institution (free days and travel assignment).

SELECTION CRITERIA

If several candidates are registered, as currently available for exchange, the AVA commission for the selection of candidates will take into account the basic criteria for selecting other work activities beyond the regular scope of work. In the selection, the commission will also take into account the following criteria:

  • employees whose work is directly related to international activities,
  • knowledge of foreign languages,
  • the selected mobility country is not a country of similar origin,
  • employees who have not yet received Erasmus funds for exchanging abroad,
  • work plan according to the Mobility Agreement.

HOW TO APPLY

The lecturer applies with a completed application form, which is found on the academy’s website and the relevant annexes. The application is sent to the web address of the academy info@ava.si or submitted in the paper. Applicants will be notified of the results upon completion of the selection process by e-mail.
