Andrej Kosak was born 16.6.1965 in Ljubljana, Slovenija. He has finished academy in Ljubljana AGRFT department of film and television. After ten years of successful TV career where he has directed more than 500 TV emissions in all kind of fields ( youth program, music program, entairtement show… ). In 1996 he directed his debut feature film “Outsider” which broke domestic box office record pulling almost 5% of population in the cinema.“Outsider” was distributed in all countries of former Yugoslavia, won several international awards and was Slovenian candidate for Oscars in 1997. His second feature “Headnoise” was adaptation of the novel by prominent Slovenian writer Drago Jančar. “Headnoise” was first official coproduction between Slovenia and Croatia. “Headnoise” was also Slovenian candidate for Oscars in the year 2002 and a winner of several international awards. His third feature film “State of Shock” was developed through Equinoxe Screenwriters Workshops held in Germany. Official advisors on the workshop were prominent names from Hollywood and Europe like Anthea Sylber, James V. Hart and Lorenzo Semple jr. “State of Shock” was international coproduction between Slovenia, Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Hercegovina supported by Euroimages. Film was released in all these countries.
